Story

Welcome to the tropical Alola region, a Hawaii-inspired archipelago of four islands. Professor Kukui guides you through the Island Challenge, a rite of passage replacing traditional Gyms.

The mysterious Ultra Beasts threaten Alola, connected to the legendary Pokémon Solgaleo and Lunala. Team Skull causes mischief while the secretive Aether Foundation pursues its own agenda.

Generation VII introduced regional variants (Alolan forms), Z-Moves, and the unique Island Challenge system. It also removed HMs in favor of Poké Ride.
